Chauntis Jenkins on leave while serving as CDC Div. K Judge Pro Tempora

Porteous, Hainkel & Johnson partner Chauntis T. Jenkins received an
appointment pro tempore from the Louisiana Supreme Court to the Orleans
Parish Civil District Court seat held by Judge Herbert Cade. Judge Cade
was elected to fill a vacant seat in Orleans Parish Traffic Court.
Her appointment commenced on January 1, 2012. Chauntis will remain on
the bench until Judge Cade’s replacement is seated following a special
election scheduled in March 2012. A runoff, if necessary will be held in April.
The appointment runs until May 1, 2012.

Until her return, Chauntis is on a leave of absence from the firm.

This honor testifies to Chauntis’ sterling reputation and special
talents which we eagerly look forward to her offering again to the firm
and our clients next summer, even as we celebrate her appointment this
holiday season.
