Laurie DeArmond joined Porteous, Hainkel & Johnson as an associate in 2003. Laurie’s practice area includes trucking/transportation, commercial, automobile and homeowner insurance defense, with a focus in insurance fraud and coverage issues.

Originally from Westborough, Massachusetts, Laurie grew up in the small northeast town of Putnam, Connecticut. She attended Colgate University in Hamilton, New York, where she majored in Geology and English and co-chaired the University Habitat for Humanity chapter and served as a member of the Gate Keeper Society. She attended Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans and earned an LL.M. in Criminal Law from the University of San Diego.

Laurie has worked as a Criminal Specialist for the State of Connecticut and as a law clerk in the 24th Judicial District Court in Gretna, Louisiana.
